 Age Requirements

  • Due to the installation of the new Pinyon Express high-speed 6-pack chairlift and associated snowmaking infrastructure upgrades, mountain biking on Bald Mountain and access via the Sterling Express chairlift will be closed for the 2025 summer season. Approximately 50% of Deer Valley's bike trails will remain open, focusing on lower-mountain trails in the Snow Park area, including the newly enhanced Ripple, Regulator, and Undertow flow trails.
  • Trails: 21.1 miles over 11 trails (all located on lower mountain)
    • 3 Flow trails (Ripple, Regulator, and Undertow)
    • 8 Single track

  • Scenic lift rides and hiking will still be available via Sterling Express and Silver Lake Express chairlifts
  • Guests hiking up the mountain can enjoy a complimentary chairlift ride down. No lift ticket required.

 Age Requirements and Other Required Info (Biker Profile)

General Requirements:

To rent a mountain bike, protective gear (including damage insurance) guests must:

  • Be of legal age to sign a rental agreement.
  • Provide a valid credit card at the time of rental.
  • For minors, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the rental contract when the bike is dispatched.

    • Note: Youth aged 12 and under may rent this bike type if an appropriately sized model is available. Please note that adult pricing applies.

 Bike Rental Booking Guidelines
  • All rentals include a helmet, arm and knee pads and gloves. Guests can chose between full-face and traditional helmets.
  • Only full day rentals can be booked in advance
  • Afternoon rentals can only be booked day-of based on availability, after 1:00 p.m. for dispatch after 1:30 p.m. (good through closing)
  • Overnight rentals: can book up to 3 days consecutively, no additional overnight fee, guest is responsible for overnight bike storage
  • Signed Release of Liability form required for bike rentals (upon each rental pickup) & lessons (one for the season); parent or guardian must sign for minors.
  • Helmets are required for all bikers.
  • PROFILE in DVSS must be fully complete (name, DOB, gender, ability, height, weight, allergies (under 18)) for ALL rentals

Please note that you are fully responsible for all damage to equipment, beyond normal wear and tear, and agree to pay all costs of necessary repairs, including parts and labor, unless you have purchased the damage insurance, which can be added at the time of booking at a daily rate of $25 per bike, per day. Keep in mind that the insurance does not cover the following incidences:

  • Loss or theft of bike
  • Damage due to bike set-up made by renter without resort consent
  • Intentional abuse or damage
  • Guests who rent e-bikes from Deer Valley are allowed on all Deer Valley trails, provided
    • They follow all directional rules
    • They must respect and follow local ordinances for trails off the property
  • Guests are not allowed to ride UPHILL on any of DV's trails with personally owned e-bikes or with bikes rented from other shops
  • Guest CAN bring their own e-bike, buy a lift ticket/have a pass, and use their bike with the power-assist function (battery) turned off (essentially, use their e-bike as a downhill bike)

Summer General Policies

 Mountain Activity Release Form (ezWaiver)

All guests participating in on-mountain activities must fill out the Mountain Activity Release Form (ezWaiver)

  • Parent or guardian must sign for minors
  • Encourage all guests to fill out the waiver in advance online/when pre-purchasing tickets online
    • When buying online, website will direct guest to the form – this will be linked to their online order and they can pick up tix at a kiosk
    • Guests with a current Inntopia account can book tickets over the phone, but must wait in line to pick up their tickets (cannot use pick-up-box kiosk) – encourage guests to buy tickets online

EXCEPTIONS

  • Mountain Activity Release Form (ezWaiver) is NOT needed for scenic rides
  • Mountain Activity Release Form (ezWaiver) is NOT needed for guests renting bikes (it's included on the rental contract)

Deer Valley Pedal Pass (free)

A signed Mountain Activity Release Form is required for all mountain bikers, whether renting a bike, bringing their own bike or using a lift or pedalling uphill themselves. For dedicated riders who thrive on the climb, this pass grants unlimited access to our mountain while skipping the cost of using lifts, gondolas, or shuttles. This free pass is issued by the lift ticket office after these guests complete a Mountain Activity Release and Pedal Pass application form. Mountain Patrol policy is to redirect any guests biking on our mountain without a Pedal Pass to the nearest Ticket Office before they continue thier ride.

 Change, Cancellation, No-Show, Transfer and Reservation Policy

Changes, Cancellations, No-shows

If you need to cancel or change a reservation, you must call or speak directly with a Skier and Summer Services agent before 5 p.m. two (2) days prior to each booked date in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations or changes made one day prior to the first day will receive a partial refund.

  • No refund for same-day cancellations or no-shows
  • Weather or traffic conditions are not viable reasons for cancellation
  • Appropriate fees will apply to lessons canceled after the deadline
