 Age Requirement & Handling Birthdays

General Guidelines:

  • All age requirements are strictly observed.
  • Never move a child up to an older age group.

Moving Down to a Younger Age Group:

  • If a child is within one year of a younger age group and a parent insists on moving them down (and the group is available), they may move down. This follows the same rules as Ski School. Always note this exception in the FYI section in DVSS

Children with Birthdays During Summer Camp:

  • If a child ages up in the middle of the week, they may stay in the younger group for the full week for consistency, or they may move up on their birthday. Ask the parent's preference.
  • For any dates the child is in camp after that week, book them in their new age-appropriate group.

Example:

  • A 4-year-old turns 5 on Wednesday. Ask (or suggest to) the parent(s) if they would like to 1) keep the child in Trekkers through Friday or, 2) move them to Explorers on Wednesday. The child will be booked in Explorers from next Monday onward.
